Trevor Wentworth, Special Projects Surveyor: Swale Borough Council - "...Good quality end product"

THE SOLUTION:

We were employed as the Main Contractor and Principle Designer and awarded a project to design and build a welcoming Modular Welfare Facility at Milton Creek Park Sittingbourne to serve the parks users. The 6.7m x 2.5m building is split into 4 sections, one Service area/Store Room, 1 Accessible W.C, and 2 unisex WC’s. As part of the solution, we created safe access and egress paths to allow all members of the public to use and benefit from the toilet provisions.

Our design team designed this building through innovative use of technology and materials, the buildings colour/design/shape and choice of materials had to be carefully selected to minimise impacts on the immediate surroundings. We did this by incorporating a Sedum Roof into the design of the building to increase energy efficiency, improve air quality, and additionally, to allow for sympathetic design to be included due to the sensitive nature of the surrounding area, evidencing our experience with the complexity of this design.
